I love these images from Cornish Heritage Farms. American folk art warms my heart.

Cards for Heroes Blog Hop
Are you here for the Cards for Heroes blog hop? If you didn't start at http://cardsforheroes.org/ you may have missed some blogs with great cards!
This Hero on Parade card was started with a Bingo Marker Blast technique sheet of cardstock. Using a piece of fine mesh plastic canvas to emboss it the paper has a subtle texture. It was fun to color the Stampendous chick to go with the bingo markers. And a Thanks! to Jen Del Muro for her SFYTT sketch.
I've made cards for our troops in one form or another for most of the war in Iraq. It has kept our soldiers in my minds eye and in my heart each day. With Cards for Heroes I've made friends as well as creating cards. Wins all around!
And now I'm very happy to send you on to the incredibly talented and nice Lisa Spangler. I bet you know her from The Hero Arts Club Blog. Don't you love her How To videos? Not to mention her wonderful cards. Check out her own blog with her beautiful photographs as well as cards. http://sideoatsandscribbles.wumple.com/?p=1791
Thanks for stopping in!

I'm getting excited about the Cards for Heroes blog hop tomorrow. This card is helping to get me ready and in the spirit. Some years back I did tons of shaving cream backgrounds including the one I used on this card. The blue and red are metallic and sparkle in real life. The flag also sparkles as I went over the ink with gel pens.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Masculine Birthday card
Jen del Muro has the best card sketches! Now that I finally have a blog I can share the cards I make with them which will be fun. http://iheart2stamp.com/2009/05/16/sketch-for-you-to-try-18/
The stamp on this one is from Inkadinkado. It isn't designed for a circle but it worked out just fine.
Missing you
When someone you love is far away it can be wonderful to have a physical token of them to keep under your pillow or always in your purse. Maybe this will be that token for someone.
The wonderful house front stamp is from Serendipity Stamps. I used Prismacolor pencils and oil to blend them. The sentiment is from Cornish Heritage Farms.

See you later!
Don't you just love googly eyes? You just have to smile when you see them. And there is that fun bumpy embossing in the background. Some little guy with get this card from a special person in our military and know that someone was thinking of them. Thanks to Cards for Heroes I get to share my cards far and wide.
Stamp is from Sandy Lion, Embossing folder from Cuttlebug, plain and scalloped circles from Nestabilities, Leaves from Sizzix, sentiment printed on the computer.

Father's Day cards
This goes with a favorite Father's Day sentiment; "A father is neither an anchor to hold us back, nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way".
I love the challenge of creating masculine cards. With Father's day coming up I thought I would share some of my past cards for this occasion. This card also indulges my love of recycling. The papers behind the images are liners of bills which I stamped on and colored. The DAD seal is cut and embossed from a washed yogurt liner.
